Meeting called to order at 7:52 pm by Mayor

Mary said this special meeting was called for
the purpose of discussing the 50/50 contract between the
All present reviewed the contract. No one had any questions.
Laura made a motion to waive the
three-reading rule and declare an emergency for Ordinance # 2007-8, and
Ordinance Authorizing the Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer to Enter into an Agreement
with the Board of Trustees of Walnut Township for Fire Protection and Emergency
Medical Services and the Declaration of an Emergency. Vickie second. All yea.
Robert made a
motion to adopt Ordinance # 2007-8, and Ordinance Authorizing the Mayor
and Clerk-Treasurer to Enter into an Agreement with the Board of Trustees of
Walnut Township for Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services and the
Declaration of an Emergency. Ed
second. All yea.
Contracts were passed around for all to
sign. Sonny will take the two originals
for Pauline Ety to sign.
Jim Hite asked how often everyone would like
to meet. Sonny suggested we should have
the meeting monthly. It was agreed to
have them on the Safety Committee meeting night – the first Monday of each
month.
Council discussed how to handle hiring new
employees – do we keep current rules of council having to approve. Everyone agreed the fire chief should be able
to hire who he thinks best fits the jobs.
Then Council & Trustees can review at meetings.
