Council Meeting Minutes

October 17, 2006

**** SPECIAL MEETING ****

Special meeting called to order at 7:00 pm by Mayor Mary Barber to discuss purchase of fire tanker. Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Roll call: Robert Ortman – Present

Jim Hite, Greg Grube, Jamie Carroll and Jimmy Barber were present from the Fire Department.

Mary announced that Walnut Township trustees had agreed at their last meeting that they would pay $46,649.99 towards the purchase of the 2006 International WynnFire Water Tanker, with the Village paying $70,000 out of the fire fund. This was dependant on putting the truck in the township’s name and they would cover it for insurance.

Aaron had given all the information to the village solicitor and he advised that the village not put the tanker in the township’s name. He said the village is not authorized to do so on their behalf and can only put it in the village’s name, like all the other equipment is. Mary got a call today and was told that if it wasn’t going in the Township’s name, then they would only give $10,000 towards the purchase, and the rest would have to be financed.

Ed made a motion to put $60,000 of the money from the fire fund and $10,000 from the township down on the truck and finance the balance of $46,649.99. Steve second. All yea.

Council advised Aaron to contact Dublin Capital for financing options.

Council discussed the issue and our relationship with the Walnut Township Trustees.

Ed made a motion to adjourn. Laura second. All yea. The time is 8:41 p.m.
